Artists Manuel Mathieu and Kennedy Yanko are connected by a commitment to the active demonstration of truth. Both artists are in an active relationship with the metaphysical through the manipulation of material and perspective. The goal?.... transcendence through a conspiratorial relationship with the universe, the conscientious exposure of the deceptions of the physical, and the unveiling of the illusory nature of time. Mathieu’s dream-like landscapes and portraits are elegant approaches to the electricity of spirit and the vibrational relationships between atomic structures obscured by human vision. He uses the thaumatrope as inspiration and for the demonstration of this phenomenon. His subjects and their environments are one and the same, dissolving into each other while calling attention to our greatest lie…. separateness.
